Patients we treat often have many questions. Below are some of the more commonly asked questions we encounter. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our office, 727-381-7888 or 727-360-1244.
What makes you unique from other dental practices?
We strive to make out office a place to return to again and again, a place where everyone knows your name. There are many dental officers to choose from, however, we believe our friendly, comfortable atmosphere sets us apart from the rest.
How often should I have my teeth cleaned?
Dental cleanings should be performed twice a year, generally every 6 months. Research shows that regular dental cleanings may prevent more serious conditions such as gum and periodontal disease. If you already show signs of periodontal disease, you may need to come in more frequently for treatment, usually at tree-month intervals. This is vital based on recent studies linking gum disease to heart disease and other systemic problems. These studies show how your oral hygiene risks can lead directly to severe heart disease and even heart attacks.
What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?
In the event of a dental emergency after hours, please call our office 727-381-7888, and you will be routed to the appropriate person for assistance.
What are porcelain veneers?
A veneer is a thin covering of porcelain material, which is bonded onto the front surface of a tooth. Veneers are custom made for your smile, to achieve a very realistic match to the color and shape of your surrounding teeth.
What are implants, and how can they help me?
Implants are man-made tooth roots, surgically implanted into your jaw. They function to hold a fabricated tooth or bridge in place, becoming a very stable solution to tooth loss. The finished implant looks much like your original tooth and is a very effective alternative to a fixed bridge or removable partial.
